Sharing Thoughts/ Discussions of the Week

This week I realized that I didn't post something for Women Day. My apologies dear Ladies. So happy Women Day to all the women! What would be this world without Women? πŸ€πŸ˜‰ We need you! Really you are blessed to be born a woman . Being every womanπŸ₯°❤ And πŸ₯‚to celebrate 🍾πŸ₯³ you Ladies. I have this song 🎡 ❤ for you.πŸ’ƒ I still have the move I guess πŸ˜‰πŸ˜… so yes! celebrate 🍾 I love and love that song "More than a Woman " Bee Gees
Today, this post is about the discussions of the week. I started with a question: " What do Men want with or in women? " because with time observing how they do stuffs...sigh I lose my voice . Seriously it gives headaches. Things that they do...you wonder when women do the same things, they are called every types of names.
For Women Day I made a suggestion of books πŸ“š I read them years ago but they were inspiring and interesting. I also share my thoughts on topics like identity culture and so on.
Once again Happy Women Day ladies! You are wives or single happy Women. You are a mother etc you are blessed. This is for you. . Never forget where you come from. When I was young, I remember whenever we were going to visit our grandparents, they would always ask me these questions: " Who are you? What's your name?" in my native language. When I was a child it exhausted me to repeat the same answers over and over again everytime that we were going there and have these same questions. However, I didn't know that it was done on purpose because they wanted me to remember who I was. They wanted me to remember my Identity. They were planting the seed of the pride of my identity and culture. What is a person without his or her identity and roots? You become like a dead tree. You feel like you have nothing to share to the 🌎
My trip to Gabon was so so uplifting and important to me. I have shared plenty posts on it in my blog. I miss my village too. I was going there to see what to do. but there is a lot to do...because it has been a while we went there. Dear Donguila, I do not forget you. I will be back for you again.
In Libreville, I visited my uncles and my aunts. I was with my cousins ( those who are still in Libreville of course) I call my aunts and uncles, my mothers and my fathers. It is our culture. Big family I knowπŸ˜… Yes, it was a good journey. A Diary of my Return to my Native Land πŸ‡¬πŸ‡¦ An emotional journey of life full of memories. This is a picture of my baby πŸ‘Ά with his first nanny when I was at my aunt's 🏑 home. I was staying there for the time I needed to recover from the C section but also my aunt was doing to me our Gabonese traditional spa for Women who gave birth. I took that picture πŸ“Έ because I want my son to see it later for his memory and story.
That's the way we carry our babies. After I left my aunt's home while renovating my family's home and the apartment, I carried my child the same way. It helps when you are busy and you need to do many things. That's the way it is in Africa πŸ₯° So always remember your history. your story and where you come from. Thank you for reading this short post and I invite you to read my website www.poshenvogue.com There I have a post on African traditional spa but precisely the ones of my country. Happy Women Day and as usual I close with a song 🎡 from Yannick Noah. He is from France πŸ‡«πŸ‡· and πŸ‡¨πŸ‡² Cameroon. Yannick Noah was one of the best French tennis 🎾 players in France. He won a Roland Garros. That year he did a great game! He is a legend. His son plays at the NBA. Joaquim Noah is his son. Yannick Noah is very proud of his two cultures. His African culture and the French one. I want my son to do the same. To be the same. Being proud of his two cultures . In this song he gives a tribute to African women that he calls the Lionesses They protect their families, their lands. Women the lioness they work hard. They make sure that every needs are met. Women are our pillars in Africa.
Enjoy the song 🎡 " Les Lionnes" I love ❤ and love this song. Tribute to African women. Thank you πŸ™Yannick Noah for that beautiful song and thank you dear readers for reading my blog and see you soon!

Talk of the WeekπŸ˜‰

Hello dear readers 😊 I hope πŸ™ this post find you well. I am not writing anymore but talking and Sharing some thoughts. Life is not always simple as it sounds to be... But first this is my take on a topic that we, women discuss a lot. I don't know if what I say makes sense to you.
I truly believe there is more pressure on women. I think it is not fair. All Men do not look like or age like Brad Pitt or like Idris Elba. Or like they used to be...These two men make women blush still today. 9You see them on magazine covers like GQ or something like that. You see them on TV commercials etc. Sometimes you see some men and you are like...ok and you don't see something special. still that pressure of perfection is done on women only. Maybe I am wrong. Let me know what you think about it. I read some comments on pictures πŸ“Έ of celebrities. The way some of these women are criticized for aging as if we are supposed to look in a certain way or they can be criticized for not having this or that on their bodies. Or too this, too that. It is sad... That critics never happen to men unless they see something shocking. 13At the end of the day we Have to accept ourselves. We must remember that there is only One You. You cannot be someone else. There is one you, your personality, your energy. There will not be another you. If you gain weight people say it is too much. If you lose weight, they ask you why are you so skinny? 15So what are we supposed to do? 16The answer is: " Love yourself the way you are" 17Do the best to take care of you but let's forget the pressure. We don't need to please people anymore. Especially when they do not value you. Just Live your life!πŸ’†‍♀️
Live your life. We only have one so...🀷‍♀️
That song was one of my favorite when it was released. I don't ask you to make the wrong choices but Live your life. Do not care about what people say or think of you. 26We are different. Your differences is what make you. "Stop lookin' at what you ain't got. Start bein' thankful for what you do got.." **** Next discussion/ thoughts**** Life is not so simple. It is not always black and white. Life is not simple... it is more complicated than that.
Ok guys this is my humble opinion: I am not in support of teens doing adult things. No s***x when you are a teen. Some people like me, we waited and waited. There is no shame in waiting. When I was young it was clear that it was for adults only. If the question was asked to me, this is my position. And I stand by it. The consequences are not a joke. You heard the story. You can be lucky but sometimes not. It is just my humble opinion nothing else. Thank you for reading and passing by 37you can visit my blog: www.poshenvogue.com I close with my short memories of Libreville my sweet hometown ❤️

Why I Was Sent to the Dormitory of Boys

Dear readers, this is a new post as promised, my story on why I was sent to Boys dormitory in around August 1992 to Cotonou/ Benin. I do not write a lot anymore. I think sharing in a different way save me time because it takes time even filming and editing. By the way, Today was a good day and I want to thank my dear friend Joe Francis who came to my youtube channel live invitation. He really took time to connect as it was 6 PM in Kigali Rwanda and it was 10 Am for me. I learned so much from our discussion. I did not know all the challenges his organization faces when it comes to Education. especially for girls in some countries of Africa. How parents in those countries are really not letting their girls go to school. I didn't know it still happened in 2020's years. I learned term like Edupreneur as he also worked as Education USA officer and American Spaces Director and cultural Affairs Assistant at the US embassy. I am telling you I was like wow! Yes, he studied English in London and he specialized also in American culture (Black America precisely) He also went to further his studies at Stellenbosh University in South Africa. Before Education he worked as a journalist in my country, then he embarked in the role of all this! So thank you Francis for your time and such simplicity of heart. Our next meet/ discussion we will have a student of his organization and him. But for now, next week I will have my friend Schelsea in my youtube live, we will discuss teaching African women the importance of saving money and teach our children to learn about saving in their very young age. Teaching them to earn their money by doing chores at home and get paid for it. She recently opened a little association of women entrepreneur. She is a nurse but since she embarked in the journey of entrepreneurship, she found out that she also has skills for finances. lol!! LiFE IS SPECIAL so interesting. She wrote a book about how to go study in America and how to save money while being an international student. She is very dynamic and interesting person. Without further ado this is my story. Let's first go back from the beginning and the History checked. (You know that I like History)
The uprisings, the strikes, the time of fear... in my country I talked about some stories of it in my previous videos. the ones of "The Legend of Fantomas" I explained about something like that... Even I missed my country so much when I left.
My experience living at the Boys dormitory was way better than at the girls. it was my first times... I will do a video of books that I liked and read πŸ“š
Thank you for reading and see you on my next post about the Girls Dorm in Cotonou. You can visit my other blog at www.poshenvogue.com I know I didn't write there for a while but I will soon when I get time. The inspiration is different there... I close this post with a song sung by of a well known African singer from Benin, πŸ‡§πŸ‡― Angelique Kidjo who I like a lot. She is so talented! I grew up listening to her since my young age in Gabon. She won a Grammy awards and many recognitions in the Music world and industry. I don't know if she has already performed at the Carnegie Hall. (Which I believe she did yes) I should check it too. In this video, she was invited to a live concert at Dakar in Senegal. Africa live. She sang "Malaika" a very well known song of Miriam Makeba (also called Mama Africa) a very talented performer from South Africa. She was sent into asylum for decades during the time of Apartheid. Miriam Makeba had her country's citizenship taken away from her because she stood against this vicious system. She became a citizen of the world. She mostly lived in America and other countries Africa. When Nelson Mandela was released from jail, she told him that they should forgive and move on for the peace of the country. Malaika is in Swahili ,language found in East Africa. Miriam Makeba said herself that it comes from Tanzania. Do not ask me when the song was released. I cannot know at all. I was a child when Miriam Makeba was performing that song. I watched her on TV she was simply beautiful. I just know that it was an old African song. We don't know who made that song first. It is about a promise of love and the lover is a man who calls his woman Malaika (meaning my angel) he promises her many things even though he does not have a lot. That was the real love of the old days people. The real one. sincerity and dedication. I leave it there. When I listen to this song my heart melt and I want to cry. If this song does not move you, then I don't know what to do... Thank you Miriam Makeba, rest in peace. Rest in peace beautiful soul. Your life has NOT been easy at all And thank you Angelique Kidjo who is now our Mama Africa. Dear readers, enjoy "Malaika "
Thank you I send you love ❤ too. Bye...

Nostalgia, When You Hold Me❤

(My little baby took that picture for me! woop! woop! He climbed the chair and he took my camera... Mama's boy forever) Hello Dear Readers! Really after sharing with you all these sad memories of my young age, I still remember that life worth living after all. Those years were difficult in my life. Talking about it today is like a therapy. Deception, disappointment.. I know all that. Unfortunately you can't trust people nowadays but...love always stand. Love always win. I chose to forgive and move on. Tomorrow is another day and life goes on. There is no need to be sad or bitter because there are people who are going through more than that. There are people who are going through a lot! Tonight I just want to encourage someone and remind you that life is live. I have this strong nostalgia holding me tobnight and as a result, I had in my mind two beautiful old songs of Diana Ross. Her voice, like a sparrow, takes you to another world where you feel comfort. I want to take you back in the days because this post is also a continuation of the 80's vibe. There was a special life those days. Every evening and night I would play these beautiful songs in Libreville my little hometown. It would calm me and relax me as I was looking at the sea. The sounds of the waves and the breeze of the sea blowing through the curtains and entering the living room were everything. That's the best side of living on the coast! If you know, you know. "Missing You" Diana Ross
Really that other song is EVERYTHING. This is a timeless song written by Lionel Richie. It is so so perfect! You can sing it (or play it) to the one you love. You can also sing it to your children. This is a masterpiece. Even when she sang it to the crowd at Central Park in NYC, she was crying of emotion. I could feel her because this song is everything. It has all my emotion when I listen to it. Next time I am going there at Central Park I will listen to it in my earphones. Remember that Love always win. Thank you for reading this short note. I will see you for more stories and discussion. Enjoy! "Endless Love" Diana Ross & Lionel Richie
You can also visit my other blog: www.poshenvogue.com The view , the nature... Enjoy!
Back at the appartment i was always delighted by the sunset and see the sunlight☀️ dancing on the 🌊 sea it was like a mirror on the water
I miss those wonderful moments. I hope this post inspired you and I will see you next time

Why I Left the Catholic Institution/1

This is a post that's going to be a long serie because there are many events that happened in my life at the dormitory of girls. I will share with you that experience but also my stay at the dormitory of boys. It is going to be long! Lol! But first, this is the incident that I encounter in my life there. I will be posting everything in my youtube channel. Little by little.
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4
Part 5
Part 6
Other topics that I have been discussing
And these are short videos of our visit at "Investir au Pays" (Invest at Home/Back to Africa) that took place some months ago in Paris/ France. The conference was initiated and made by a young successful African businessman. He invited all the African diaspora and some Africans living in the continent to attend that great conference. I truly believe that more and more Africans understand (me included) that we have to do something in our continent and change that bad image. Africa has a true potential with all its natural ressources.
Thank you for watching and you can also visit my blog: www.poshenvogue.com I have three books now on Amazon.com and Amazon.fr 1/ A Night with a Marine / Une Nuit avec un Marine 2/ How Far is this America/ Quelle est Loin cette Amerique 3/ Destination Libreville (A guide to live in the city) Papa Wemba "Show Me the Way" I love and love this song with words of Wisdom. Song that he sang in Lingala, a language of Congo. That song had success in the 90's. Show me the Way asking to the elders what he should or should not do in this life of confusion. Asking to the elders to hold him by the hand and showing the way to make the right decisions in life. Seeking advice from them. (This is a very African way to do life) I remember when he went to Libreville and he performed this song in the late 90's. It was moving! It touched me so so much that I almost cried. There was a little boy who went up on the podium and took the microphone and sang with him... Ha! Rest in Peace Papa Wemba you were an African legend of music. We miss you. Africa miss you. Dear readers, enjoy "Show Me the Way" (Show me the way I can go....)

Life Lessons that I Learned from my Mother 🧑

This is a post where i share with you some of the things that i learned in life through my parents. There are many more but I want to start with these ones first. I hope they will inspire you too... I truly believe that the way we treat people or the way we view the world 🌎 first start by how we were raised. It started by how you see your parents behaving with others or how they indirectly teach you basic habits. Like for example: "Laetitia say thank you when someone gives you something " Guess what? i saw some adults who do not know how to say please or thank you. NOT JUDGING. IT IS WHAT I SAW...
My father when I was really young told me " When greeting adult people you don't give them your hand first, you wait if they want to shake your hand or not. You don't stare or look at older people in the eyes unless they ask you a specific question " You try to avoid too much familiarity with adult people. I know it can sound strange but it was the old school style ...πŸ˜… but he was raised like that and he taught that to me. Remember we all have our culture and traditions. Actually it was a way to show respect to the elders. I think as a mother that I am today, I am more and more conscious to set an example to my son by the way I talk or do things. IT IS NOT EASY AT ALL. When you realize it, then you know how difficult it is to be a parent and how your parents did a great job raising you. You can't judge πŸ™☹️their shortcomings too much because you are going to be a parent and you will face hard decisions too...
My parents were not perfect at all. They did the best they could but i can still say that i learned a lot from them. IT IS NOT EASY TO RAISE CHILDREN. IT IS NOT EASY TO BE A PARENT. You learn Every day. By the Grace of GOD we learn every single day. As a mother I discover myself every day because of my little one. The first word I can say when it comes to be a mother is the word PATIENCE. I mean like really In this post I share with you what i learned from my Mom. It taught me to see people differently. It also taught me to treat people with dignity... I ❤️ love my Mom so much. She is everything to meπŸ˜„πŸ™ƒ.
Thank you for reading and this is my blog www.poshenvogue.com This a song of wisdom. A song 🎡 of a well known African legend of music 🎢 Pierre Claver Akendengue A panafrican singer from Gabon He sings " Akewa" saying thank you to our parents. Thank you for the life... Dear readers,, enjoy " Akewa "
