I just want to share with you things that I found here in France like some items and music artists that I personally like. This post is about few things that are not expensive but really good! They are simple and they can bring a little bit of joy! Some of them remind me of things that we liked to do or use back in the days. However, most of them are usually found in France only and in countries where the country exports their products. Or maybe they can also be found online...I guess...
I start with some simple beauty products first, then I will share what I discovered in music because I like music. Once again you will discover my taste and my personal choices.
1/ Because I need to clean and purify my face with a bio mask I bought this clay paste all purposes. I also use it for the entire body because it is for it as well. In my case, I use it two times every two weeks and sometimes I use it after a soft scrub.
the next beauty product is made in Ivory Coast but it is sold here. This is the natural African Shea butter traditionally made it is a bio cosmetic product too. It has a soft smell and it melt easily on your hands. It contains some vitamins E, A, D and F and it is really good on the skin, the hair and the feet. I am so glad I have it with me because it gives a really beautiful and soft skin.
A very simple soap that I like. It is soft and really good for sensitive skin specifically. Roge Cavailles soap is made with mild milk and honey. This soap is good and it feels good on the skin. I use it since I came here for I personally like it. They also make body lotion...
What I use for my face, since I came here: After washing my face with Bioderma gel, I apply Avene cleanance Expert day and night. I have to admit that my skin has changed a little bit since I am here and I guess it is due to the different environment and weather. I wash my face with Bioderma. Bioderma is a purifying cleaning gel for the face and it is good for sensitive skin as well.
Ok! this is another special thing that I wanted to share . It is simple but really good! They are things that I really like and that is the reason why I write about them . These ones are from a bio French brand named Yves Rocher. Yves Rocher has been in business for many years now and their products are bio and good quality. I like Yves Rocher because they also encourage the protection of our natural environment and I really like that aspect of their business.Recently, I wanted to buy their dry Monoi oil from Tahiti because it has been a while that I used it and I missed it a lot! The other reason is the fact that I haven't found any Yves Rocher beauty institutes or shops in the US yet. However, someone told me that maybe I could find it in New York. Well, the fact is I don't live there so...It cannot be possible for me to buy them often if the shop is "maybe" in NY.
Then, I decided that I will not only buy the Monoi oil but some other Monoi products too. As a result, I also bought the Monoi of Tahiti shower shampoo gel. I intend to take more to go with me back to my place.
The blue shower gel makes you feel like swimming in the blue turquoise water of Tahiti. I recently watched an interesting TV documentary about this oil of Tahiti.
We all know Tahiti with its beautiful ladies and the nice flowers. I just want to share a little bit about the benefits of this good oil that I have learned from this documentary. The word Monoi simply means "scented oil" and I like the smell of it because it is like smelling the flower itself. It is extracted from a flower named Tiare. They soak the Tiare flowers in coconut oil that's the reason why the Monoi oil has this good scent. They use this oil to soften their hair and their skin. www.tahitiorganics.com |
Really guys, I need this special moment in my life. I can just imagine that I am this lady sitting and breathing the pure ocean breeze. Like her, I need that loving care and I need some Tiare flowers too.

It can be used as a deep conditioner for hair or oil treatment if you want to see them healthy and shiny.
Like the picture above, it is used for massaging the body as well.
Few drops in a water during a bath helps for relaxation. This is magic!
The Tiare flowers |
I am talking about some beauty secrets of the French Polynesia (Tahiti) so when you use the Monoi oil products you feel like being in Tahiti already (Smiling)
After purchasing something at the store, Yves Rocher gives you free seeds to grow in your garden because they promote the protection of the environment and our planet like I said earlier and yes they gave me some calendula seeds. How many beauty brands do that?
Together let's share our passion for the vegetal world |
Do you want to smile like these two beautiful ladies in the picture?
To me this oil is a total island delight especially in the fresh morning! As a result, You feel good and simply beautiful. It is simple and enough! Then, I can smile like these two ladies all day long!
Now I think that I have shared enough about the benefits of this good oil.
Even those below: A vanilla body spray and a grenadine shower gel. The scent of this shower gel relaxes me. I use it especially for an afternoon shower. The vanilla smells so much like real vanilla! I love and love it! It is almost like having the smell of vanilla ice cream on you!Now I have to be honest here: These three things are likely to be some kind of souvenirs in my beautiful mind than something else. I bought them again because I cannot find them in the US. Yes, I missed seeing and using Ushuaia that's the reason why I purposely got them. I will go back and add them to my "special" beauty products at my place. There are specific and special things that I keep with me, I don't use them I just like to see them, to smell touch and put them back (That's me!) Many girls back in the days, liked the Ushuaia and we used to keep the body spray in our bags at school, in the city, when going to the cinema, or the city's public library...To me it's normal.
Of course it was not the only liked brand at that time because there were many others on the market but Ushuaia was personally my favorite one. It was my favorite one because of the originality of its name. Ushuaia is an area of Argentina's territory that is for tourism. Ushuaia was also a TV program for people like me who like adventures, discovering cultures and people of the world. And the brand offers a variety of scents from different part of the world. My choice was carefully made!
As you can see, I picked another one with the Monoi oil of the French Polynesia once again. I like it because of the scent . It is simply relaxing. It is simple and enough!
Now at sephora
I first went there to smell perfumes as usual because that's something that I like to do but at the end, I decided to buy some little items before leaving:
Two Sephora mascara (blue and black) like the blue it is my favorite color!
I am not too much in false eyelashes even though I like seeing them on people. I think, in my case, I can just wear them in some special occasions. Therefore, mascara is simple and enough to me.
I also got a blue eye shadow. This is the kind of blue that I like!
To me perfumes can never be left on the side. I picked the Irresistible of Givenchy. I first wanted another one of Givenchy (Hot Couture of Givenchy) but I ended up choosing that one specifically because the scent is so special. It has like a fresh and a fruity scent or something like that. I bought two of them: One is for to be used now and the other for later once back to my place (as a souvenirs of the moments)
So if you sometimes want to feel irresistible why not go for it!So if you guys didn't buy yours yet, maybe you should do it now because "Our Friend" is already reading some interesting articles and he likes them all!
Glamour France magazine. I like the white top in crochet that the model wears on the cover
On my free times I like to read magazines because I always feel like I discover new interesting things for women.
That guy below is cute right? (wink) I think he is a model and an actor.
When I read my magazines I need to nibble on something good and sweet. So I had some delicious French macarons this time. I think they are better than the ones that I ate ...somewhere...
And thank you for a warm good cup of tea at the end.
For the same occasion, I also wanted to talk about the new issue of Style Equation magazine. It's all about travel for Summer and staying in style. I work for them on my free times and I wrote two articles different from those that I did few months ago. The first one is about some stylish destinations and the other one is about some tips and tricks to pack for trips. Check it out! It is on sale now If you are interested you can purchase your copy here on: www.stylequationmagazine.com Digital copy is free with the purchase of printed copy
You will also find many other interesting articles and nice fashion pictures as well.
It's funny because when I was asked to write the two articles, I was preparing my own trip at the same time so it was such a good coincidence! I got excited and inspired to write from personal experience.
Now let's talk about music. What I found that I personally like since I am here.
I don't know if you heard about this young French singer from Corse. Her name is Acquaviva Batista. As you can read and see there is a little bit of Italian root in her style I don't know a lot about her but her voice sounded so special in my ears!
Acquaviva Batista "Psaume de David" (David 'Psalms)
I like her Polka dots long skirt
Acquaviva Batista "Bella Ciao"
The next ones are a pair of twins. They are half French and half from Cuba with some Nigerian roots. (Yoruba). I found Ibeyi so original in their style because they mix all of what they are in their music. They take this talent from their father who was himself a musician
Ibeyi |
Maybe you have already heard about the group or maybe not. Really guys I cannot do what they do in the water for this video. (Singing and breathe under the water...To me it was too much! These girls impress me)
Ibeyi "Come to the River"
They sing in French, Spanish, English and Yoruba as well. This is another one of their songs. I also like it!
Ibeyi "Oya"
So far these are the talents that personally touched me since I am here.

Ok! That's all for today! I thought to close with this beautiful song from Cape Verde. A beautiful little island of Africa. The singer is Marizia. "Cabeca No Ar"( Head in the air) I love this song and it's on my playlist too. Thank you for reading!
